Rural Resources provides family caregiver support, respite care and kinship care to provide a little help for you when you’re caring for others. Those who are eligible include:
- Individuals over the age of 18 with functional disability and their unpaid caregiver who provides a substantial amount of care
- Relatives raising a child who is under 18 years old
- People over age 60 caring for minor grandchild or other relative
- People over age 60 caring for a developmentally disabled child or adult
Our Family Caregiver Support Program helps unpaid caregivers and those they care for so they may maintain an in-home caregiving situation for as long as possible. We can provide you with advocacy and support to help you navigate social service and legal systems, while also guiding you to other community resources.
Respite Care, provided in your home or at other locations, offers relief for family or other unpaid caregivers of disabled adults ages 18 and older.
Our Kinship Caregiver Support Program provides information, assistance and referral for grandparents and other relatives caring for minor relatives. We can also provide short-term financial help for clothes, food, car seats, beds and other needs.
